Earthship Island 2016

March 6 - March 31, 2017

Earthship Island will have its second hit on March 6, 2017.
This workshop will involve building from the ground up a tropical Earthship prototype with all systems functioning in three weeks. It will also involve some initial Island settlement activities all centered around the thinking that we as people want our presence to make the island better not worse.  We are hoping the Earthship Island project shows the world that humans can make the planet better, not worse.
Trees do this.  Why not humans?

This workshop is open to all.  It will also fulfill the Field Studies requirement for any Earthship Academy students working towards graduation.
It will involve working side by side with trained Earthship experts and Michael Reynolds.

If we’re able to build a zero-waste/carbon community on an island, couldn’t this become a sustainable model for the rest of the world? Indonesia is the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases and, as in many other parts of Asia and the rest of the world, also experiences the downside of fast growth and climate change. Water and air pollution, income disparities, increased rates of diseases and extreme weather events are just some of those negative externalities.

Registration for this unique opportunity is open now.
The participation fee is $2,000 per person for the month and includes two meals a day - lunch and dinner and camping facilities on the island.
Participants are responsible for their own transportation.
We will work five days a week with sixth day being optional.

A tropical Earthship will emerge, people will be trained, Q&A sessions and four lectures on the Six Earthship Principles will take place, snorkeling and coral exploration will happen and a virgin island will begin to support human life while that human life begins to support the island.

Come and join us!
